EASTSIDE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
ABOUT US
What is Eastside Community Development Corporation?
Eastside Community Development Corporation (ECDC) was established in 1996, under the leadership of Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns and Second Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Guns, in conjunction with the social ministry of the church, sought to build an organization as a center of excellence to bolster healthy families, strengthen neighborhoods and build sustainable communities in the Norfolk, Virginia area.
As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, the mission of ECDC is to foster healthy families and neighborhoods in low to moderate-income communities, as well as establish partnerships with local organizations which share a similar vision.
For over 25 years, ECDC has provided a multitude of benefits, services and opportunities to the local community at no cost to the families of Norfolk. These services range from health clinics and marriage symposiums to financial counseling for individuals and community safety initiatives to encourage safer neighborhoods.

With the help of local community partners and large organizations that believe in the mission of ECDC, the health, well-being, safety and financial development of the communities of Norfolk remains at the forefront of the ECDC mission.
